Where Sunday's Message Meets Everyday Life

I Need Jesus (a Christmas poem)

In Bethlehem’s quiet, beneath the starry sky,
A humble manger cradled hope, where angels hovered nigh.
“I want Jesus,” whispers the heart’s sweet plea,
For in this Christmas tale is salvation’s mystery.

Born in a stable, a King in swaddling bands,
God’s gift to all creation, in Bethlehem He stands.
A Savior wrapped in love, a precious gift,
From heaven to earth, our souls to uplift.

“I want Jesus,” the shepherds declare,
Their hearts bowed in awe, as the heavenly air
Resounds with joy, a message so divine,
A promise fulfilled, a wonder sublime.

Our hearts receive with tender care,
His indescribable gift, beyond compare.
In the midst of tinsel and the twinkling light,
We find in Jesus, our eternal delight.

“I want Jesus,” cries the soul in need,
This offered Gift broken hearts receive.
The Son of Man came to seek and to save,
A fallen world, in mercy He forgave.

Through the ages, this story prevails,
A love so profound, as every heart exhales.
“I want Jesus,” our anthem this season,
A Savior, a Shepherd, our ultimate reason.

In the hustle and bustle, forget not the cost,
For the babe in the manger was the King on the cross.
“I want Jesus,” our heart gladly sings,
Embracing the Gift that Christmas brings.
