If you haven’t read through Colossians 1 in a while, it’s worth the effort! I’m blown away by how Jesus is portrayed – as Divine Creator, Powerful Sustainer and Perfect Reconciler. What floored me when I read it the final time was that His reconciling work will lead to Jesus Himself presenting me“holy before [God], without blemish and free from accusation.”
Jesus left nothing undone, no sin unforgiven, no stain remains. All that I have done, said, thought, the totality of my sin is covered by His blood. I once was far from God – His enemy! – now I am clean, holy, without blemish, free from accusation! So high a price – so great a debt – so incredible a sacrifice.
François de La Rochefoucauld wrote: “We forgive to the extent that we love.” Limitless forgiveness – limitless love. That is my Jesus!
